Sully

Sully is a neutered tawny 4 year old boy, currently shaved down. He's an exuberant boy, who gets along very well with the girls in Claude's house, and with her younger male. He does not get along with her older boy. He previously shared a home with a single female Briard.

Sully was returned to Claude because of dominance issues. He'd been allowed to take over a household. From the day that Jeanne picked him up, and he arrived at Claude's, those issues were easy to deal with, much easier than we expected from what we were told before getting him back. He simply had to be told clearly and consistently that he was not in charge, that growling and snapping were not appropriate or effective, and it didn't take long for him to learn proper respect for the humans in his new life. He knows basic obedience, is crate trained and house broken. He's a very happy boy! He does well in public, wanting to greet everyone. If Claude did not already have 2 boys, she'd love to keep Sully.

Because of his previous bad habits, Sully needs to go to an experienced home. He needs consistency in enforcing basic concepts like getting off furniture when told to, crating when directed, sitting and staying as told to. We don't want any backsliding!

Sully's worst habit is jumping up on those he considers friends. It's a hard habit to break in a multidog household. It should be easier to control when 4 dogs aren't all trying to say hello at once!

Claude is not selling Sully. All we want is a great home for him. Help with any transportation costs would be appreciated. It's pretty much impossible now days to ship an adult Briard. But we're willing to drive up to 8 hours from Arizona to meet a new home. He is a lovely boy, but it's time for him to move on to a new situation.

Claude is currently visiting family in France. She can be reached by email at claudemarie@comcast.net, on Facebook messenger (Claude Marie Cooper), or after April 22 at 925-337-0830. Sully is in Dewey, Arizona, and available to meet with a bit of notice, with either Jeanne or Steve doing the honors until Claude returns.
